Abilities of Mobius

The ability system in Final Fantasy Mobius works off a card basis. Each card bears the likeness of a monster, summon, or other such entity, and has an ability of certain strength associated with it. The same ability may be of different strength when connected to different cards. Each card also has its own level (the total of all the cards you have equipped on a job equals the job's level), seed level (how many seeds and of what type you gain after battle), and additional traits and buffs.

Additional buffs can be gained randomly when it is used in battle after conditions are fulfilled. Additional traits are gained by using special items. Seed level and ability's level can only be raised by fusing cards of appropriate types into the card, and card levels can be gained through both using it in battle and by fusing. There are special Cactuar cards that yield more experience when used as fusion materials, or give better chances of leveling up seed or ability levels.

Each card also has a rarity associated with it, and certain cards can be raised in rarity when they reach max level, provided you have fulfilled the requirements to unlock the feature. The process is called class change and requires special ingredient cards.
