暗黒 / あんこく [ankoku] or 'darkness' in Japanese.

Final Fantasy IV

Use: Cecil (Dark Knight form), others (DS version only)
Obtain: initial ability as Dark Knight
Obtain: steal the Augment from Odin
Effect: (DS version) gain the Darkness status. Increases your attack power, but each attack consumes your HP
Effect: (earlier versions) consume HP to deal damage to all enemies

GF: Diablos, Doomtrain, Eden
Effect: enables you to use the command Darkside – sacrifice your own HP in exchange for damage

Description: Consumes HP by pressing the button to raise the power of the physical attack dealt. Also absorbs the enemy's physical strength and defense in order to raise the caster's stats.
