Escape

There are two different abilities with the same English-language name. The first, 逃げる / にげる [nigeru] or 'run' in Japanese, is a basic command available in earlier Final Fantasies that makes either the whole party or just the user of Escape run from battle. It has also been translated as 'Run'. The second, エスケプ [escep] in Japanese, is a spell. Note that Flee is a separate ability from either.

Final Fantasy III

Effect: varies by the job it's used on. EVO/SAG is randomly either Chocobo Dash or Chocobo Kick, SMN always Chocobo Kick

Description: Escape the battle so you can continue the adventure - guaranteed!
Other: escapes with 100% probability. Can't escape from bosses
Other: とんずら [tonzura] in Japanese. This ability has commonly been translated as Flee. The ability にげる in FF4HL was translated as Runaway.
