The History of Things and Other History

Following the excerpts themselves is a brief mention of what mobs are required to unlock the lore page in question.

The History of Things

Destrier Mane
At precisely what point the polished destrier mane came to be used as a device for the casting of magicks is unclear.
The noble steeds from whence such mane-coverings came were named by a sorcerer, however, and perhaps this association has given them their magickal properties.
As tools for the castings of magicks go, these are among the best.
Mesmenir 064 / Ozmone Plain

Mallet
Until quite recently, the mallet was a tool used exclusively to bring the deeply distressed to their senses.
However, the violent appearance of the tool has lessened its popularity of late, and mallet-makers everywhere are feeling the strain of a downturn in demand.
But now a savior has emerged from a most unlikely direction: the famed Mameco the Pug and several other mummers have begun using mallets in their work on the stage. Nothing is more crowd-pleasing than braining a fool with a mallet, it seems.
Purobolos 185 / Pharos

The Annals

Mythril
In the deepest reaches of the past, an underground kingdom there was, and here did they make the metal known as mythril, a metal so strong that even magma cannot mar it.
The flame gigas saw this and were displeased, and so did they launch a grand assault on the kingdom under the earth.
At the end of a long, brutal war, the gigas were defeated, yet the kingdom too, fell into ruin, sinking deeper still beneath the surface, away from the light, and into obscurity until it and its prized mythril were discovered by adventurers centuries later.
Mythril Golem 170 / Ancient City of Giruvegan

Zombie Powder
It is recorded in the chronicles that the fearsome army led by Mad King Dorneus was a legion of zombies, such as has never been seen before or since.
Though the neighboring lands prepared for it, the war they feared never came, for in the space of a night, the king, his army, and all the people of his land disappeared, leaving naught behind them but ruins and swirling zombie powder.
The circumstance of their passing is a mystery never like to be explained.
Banshee 204 / Nabreus Deadlands

A Tale Told in Antiquity

Bomb Fragment
There is a tale sometimes told of a great battle that took place in a land of deep snows, a conflict between invader and invaded.
Though the invaders took the day, too weary were they to take their leave of the battlefield, for the snow was very deep, and the footing treacherous. And so the snows came in the night, killing the invaders as they slept. Of those who fought in that battle, only one man, a villager, survived to make the journey home. Finding a bomb fragment from one of the invaders' cruel weapons, he used its fire to set light to the bodies of both friend and foe, and by that warmth did he cling to life, and by that glow did he mend his wounds.
