Welcome to Mythopoeia, Vana'diel section!
Mythopoeia-Vana'diel is the RP linkshell for Final Fantasy XI, located on the Quetzalcoatl server. Mythopoeia is a free-form RP in that there is no over-arching story (most of the time) aside from the general game events and the intertwined lives of the member characters. Aside from RP, Mythopoeia is a social linkshell that also does events for its members.
Events have reached the year 887 CE in the RP. Everything up to close to the game's start year (883 to be exact) follows the Timeline of Vana'diel page.
To join, the character(s) you wish to join must be on the same server. Below are some pointers for joining and on being a member.
1) You must be literate to join. Your character's name has no requirements, although make sure to acknowledge that anything deviating from the typical racial names cannot be their real (birth) name. Also take a look at already established events in the Mytho-Vana'diel story and check that your character's story doesn't conflict with anything - and that your character isn't 'god-mode'.
If you wish to have your character participate in canon quest lines, you must get approval of the linkshell. Final decision in cases of conflict rests with the officers.
2) Either contact a linkshell officer in the game - Jenare or Arivess are your best bets - or type up a short character bio/application according to the below model and post it as a response to this thread. Whichever method you choose, it's best to have that character bio on the ready.
You may or may not get an immediate decision, depending on (but not limited to) if a member knows you already and the quality of your application. If your app gets denied, you are free to fix it and try again.
A) All members have the chance to create a biography/introduction page for each of their characters on Chrysalis. Likewise, should you want one, all members have the chance to have a blog for their main character and a common one for other characters.
B) RP happens. In this forum, in the blogs, in linkshell and its events. Do note, however, that not all linkshell chatter and not all linkshell events are RP-centric.
