Mage

Mage is a default mage job in a few Final Fantasies. It is extremely rare, and even in its rarity the English translation 'Mage' comes from two different Japanese jobs. The first is 魔道士 [madoushi] or 'mage' in Japanese. The second is ウィザード [wizard]. See also Wizard.
As mentioned previously, Mage is extremely rare. It has no commonalities between its appearances, and there are no character examples of Mages.

Final Fantasy XIII-2

Paladin (ウィザード [wizard] in Japanese) is a job found in the DLC Requiem of the Goddess, used exclusively by Lightning. It is her equivalent of a magical-based Ravager. Note that her actual stats depend on her level, not her role, so they can be found on her own page.

Obtain: default (level 0)
Role Bonus: ATB gauge speed +50%

Command Abilities
Level 0 - Thunder
Level 4 - Thundara
Level 7 - Thundaga

A New Empire

Note that this appearance of Mages is not the standard Final Fantasy job, but a generic mage troop unit. There are six levels of Mage troops, each stronger than the last but with some variation in speed.

Stats

Mages are strong against Warriors and Siege Engines, and weak to Cavalry and Traps. In addition, Lightning-type Traps are strong against them.

Mobius

Mage (魔道士 in Japanese) comes in two varieties. The main variety is the Mage job card. The second is an advanced job of the Apprentice Mage job card.
