Basics

Starting Out

Rogue is an advanced class that can't be picked as your starting class. To unlock it, you must first level one other class to 10, and then complete the unlocking quest in Limsa Lominsa.

Jobs

Once you're level 30 Rogue, you can unlock the job Ninja. Note that unlocking it also requires level 15 Pugilist.

Combos

Combos are a way of chaining abilities/weaponskills for various extra effects. In version 2.0+ they can either be native to the ability/weaponskill used, or can come via a trait learned at a later level. In version 1.x they were always available as long as you knew the appropriate abilities/weaponskills.

2.0+ Combos
Spinning Edge -> Gust Slash (increased potency)
Spinning Edge -> Shadow Fang (increased potency, inflicts dot)
Gust Slash -> Aeolian Edge (increased potency from rear)
Gust Slash -> Dancing Edge (increased potency from flank, decreases slashing resistance by 10% and HP recovery via healing magic by 20% for 20s)
