Script (First time)

Return to the Bowl

Louisoix: Ah, <Player>. Your gallant showing in the battle with Ifrit stands as an inspiration to us all. However, it pains me to say that we fell short of our objective.
Even as we speak, the land continues to be bled of its aether. 'Tis only a matter of time before the fount runs dry and Eorzea is reduced to a barren wastland, utterly devoid of life.
Needless to say, we must do everything in our power to prevent this. Ifrit must be vanquished, that the crystals might be allowed to regain their light.
Know, however, that besting the Lord of the Inferno will prove still more difficult than before. Much to our chagrin, the power of the crystals spilled forth into his being when last you faced him, and he has grown stronger for it.
Yet I have every faith that you will see this task to its conclusion, and prove a savior to Eorzea. So long as you believe in yoruself, I know you shall not fail us.
Now, let us speak of more practical matters. Before you can face Ifrit, you must needs summon him forth. As you are already aware, the act requires the use of the Inferno Flambeau.
Alas, it was lost to us the moment the path to the aetherial gate was severed. To compound matters, the resulting warping of the land appars to be as permanent as it is extensive. In short, it is all but impossible to repair the flow of aether leading to Ifrit's lair.
Ah, but be not discouraged, for even the most elusive of riddles may yet afford more than one solution. Indeed, this partiuclar one has two!
The first takes the form of the Inferno Lamp, a token of Ifrit's favor bestowed only upon a single, chosen Amalj'aa. The lord of the Inferno is said to have plucked the everlasting flame that burns within the artifact from his own being.
I have most opportunely come upon intelligence that Flamefist Ahlygg Roh - commander of the Amalj'aa stronghold of Zahar'ak - currently counts the Inferno Lamp amongst his possessions. Could we but claim it for ourselves, the path to ifrit would surely open before us.
In the event that the Amalj'aa leader proves elusive, you might consider availing yourself of Inferno Tapers, lesser tokens of Ifrit's favor bequeathed to the most devout of Amalj'aa zealots at Zahar'ak.
The flames of the Inferno Taper burn feebly beside the lamp - but if we had five at our disposal, mayhap we could create an Inferno Lamp for ourselves. A more circuitous path than the first, to be sure, but one which leads to the same goal.
These two methods are but different means to the selfsame end. Once you have an Inferno Lamp, you must take yourself to Camp Broken Water in southern Thanalan, and thence strike southwest.
You will eventually come upon a cave, in the bowels of which you will find an aetheryte created by beastmen. It will grant you entry into the Bowl of Embers, Ifrit's sanctuary.
Now, I need hardly remind you that the adversary you face is termed a god by some, and a demon by others. Worse, he has only grown stronger since last you met. As such, I ask that you gather together a band of the hardiest souls in your acquiantance to aid you in this battle of battles. I would not have you risk your life unnecessarily, nor less Eorzea's fading hopes.
So here we stand, <Player>. Are you ready to do what must be done - to be a savior to this land?
(quest accept)
Louisoix: Your unwavering resolve gives me heart, <Player>. I pray for your success, and shall await your safe return with bated breath.
Should you at any time require another Inferno Lamp, you need but ask.

Louisoix: Greetings, <Player>. I take it you require an Inferno Lamp.
(Have Louisoix create an Inferno Lamp? Yes)
Louisoix: Ah, yes, five Inferno Tapers. These will serve. I shall create for you an Inferno Lamp at once.
The lamp is ready. With it in your possession, take yourself to Camp Broken Water in southern Thanalan, and thence head southwest. You will eventually come upon a cave, deep within which is the aetheryte that leads to Ifrit.
Go now, <Player>, and return hither once Ifrit is vanquished and aether returned to the land. I pray for your safety and success.

Triumphant Return

(after defeating Ifrit)
Louisoix: You triumphed over the Lord fo the Inferno!? You never cease to amaze me, <Player>! A more valiant adventurer I have never known, and I daresay never will!
I am much relieved to see that your close contact with Ifrit did not take a heavy toll upon your mind. So long as the duration of exposure is short, and the mind strong, it would appear that the risk of permanent corruption is negligible.
Your deeds this day go a long way towards healing the land. Yet much remains to be done before balance is fully restored. For the sake of Eorzea and her denizens, I pray that you will ever stand fast with us.

Script (Repeat)

Challenge Again

Louisoix: In returning hither, I assume you've resolved to face the Lord of the Inferno once more. Be reminded, then, of the two means by which we might force a final confrontation upon him.
The first requires that you obtain the inferno Lamp. I am given to understand that it is currently in the possession of Flamefist Ahlygg Roh, commander of the Amalj'aa stronghold of Zahar'ak. Suffice it to say, he is not like to part with the sacred relic while he still draws breath.
The second, more circuitous path requires that you relieve several lesser Amalj'aa at Zahar'ak of their Inferno Tapers - five to be precise, from which I shall fashion an Inferno Lamp of sorts.
As such, I ask that you gather together a band of the hardiest souls in your acquaintance to aid you in this battle of battles.
