Coerthas Central Highlands (クルザス中央高地 [coerthas chuuou kouchi] or 'coerthas central highlands' in Japanese) forms the central portions of the Coerthas region. Its main locations are Dragonhead, Boulder Downs, Prominence Point, Whitebrim Front and Natalan. A great mountain called the Nail juts out from the center of it. Central Highlands also has the only land entrance to the city of Ishgard. Other settlements in the area are Camp Dragonhead, Whitebrim Front and the First Dicasterial Observatorium of Aetherial and Astrological Phenomena. It also used to house the Steel Vigil and Stone Vigil, but in the years following the Calamity both the watchkeeps were taken over by dragons.
