Hathoeva River

Overview

The Hathoeva River (ハズーバ川 [hathoeva gawa] or 'hathoeva river' in Japanese) is a river that runs through various areas of the Black Shroud in Final Fantasy XIV. It appears that there are at least two or three tributaries that all run together eventually to form the Hathoeva River proper, depending on how you count.

The source of the eastern tributary (ハズーバ支流：東 / East Hathoeva River) is somewhere in the Shroud, possibly central Shroud judging by Hathoeva's depiction on the world map. The western tributary, Upper Hathoeva River (ハズーバ支流：上流), appears to have its source somewhere towards either north Shroud or in the lands between the Black Shroud and Coerthas. The two run together in the south Shroud at Tranquil Paths, where the name changes to Lower Hathoeva River (ハズーバ支流：下流). Technically, Lower Hathoeva River puts out at Rootslake, although judging by the world map it continues on past Rootslake to the east coast of Aldenard and finally puts out at Rothlyt Sound. Do also note that the parts of Hathoeva found in the South Shroud are all titled as 'Hathoeva tributary' in Japanese. This may or may not indicate that the main river is somewhere else and the South Shroud rivers are just tributaries. Looking at the world map, it might just be possible that the main river is located further west and south, and the middle branch shown are the tributaries found in the South Shroud.
